{{Main|Fingerprint}}
For each new bibliographical number (= each new fingerprint) or variant, a new 'bibliographical number'-field needs to be generated. You can do this by typing a number in the numerical field next to the text 'Bibliografische nummers' [bibliographical numbers] in bold and then clicking on the button 'extra nummerveld' [extra number field].
The order of these fields can be changed by altering the numbers in the numerical field besides each italic word 'nummer' [number]. This is a field for sorting and should not be confused with the actual 'bibliographical number'-field.
This is the field where the actual fingerprint is entered according to the protocol described earlier. Exotic symbols are not always recognised by the browser and need to be avoided where possible. The most common symbols (e.g. pied-de-mouche) are represented by a different sign in a standardised manner and explained in the notes. Rare and hard to display symbols may be replaced by an arbitrary character. Here, too, an explanation in the notes (cataloguing remarks and general notes) is necessary. If the field is left empty, this will be removed by the system upon saving the bibliographical description.
The type of bibliographical number can be indicated in this field by selecting it with the mouse. For STCV, just one type is used: 'fingerprint'. This type is already selected for STCV-records.
Normally, there are no further fields in this section of the description for STCV-records. Nevertheless, should a field for source-indication appear, the source needs to be defined as 'document'.
