Constructing Search URLs

{{SeeAlso|List of Index Prefixes for Search}}

It is possible to create direct URLs for search patterns in STCV. This is the basic format of such a URL:

http://anet.be/stcv/stcvopac/X/PATTERN

E.g., to search for records containing the words 'accident' or 'accidenten', you can construct this URL:

http://anet.be/opac/stcv/stcvopac/e/accident+OR+accidenten

Any valid search pattern for the quick search option on the home page of the STCV online catalogue can be used in a search URL. Refer to the help information on the home page for details.

Character Encoding

Since certain characters can cause problems in URLs, you need to convert them to specific codes.

This search pattern:

su:christian AND (ti:kerk* OR ti:sta?t)

becomes:

http://anet.be/opac/stcv/opacstcv/e/su%3Achristian%20AND%20%28ti%3Akerk%2A%20OR%20ti%3Asta%3Ft%2A%29

or:

http://anet.be/opac/stcv/opacstcv/e/su%3Achristian+AND+(ti%3Akerk%2A+OR+ti%3Asta%3Ft%2A)
